CHECKING IN with Nti Aning

Welcome back to Checking In, in which I check in with a friend to see what they’ve been getting into.

This week I checked in with Nti Aning. Nti and I met freshman year of college but didn’t actually become friends until senior year, which was 15 years ago and I don’t want to talk about it. I called Nti on Sunday afternoon, a couple hours before the Oscars started. It was 28 degrees in Brooklyn but 62 degrees in LA, where Nti had just filed his taxes and was getting coffee. It is hard to hear about the beautiful weather in California when you’re in the dregs of an east coast winter, but I have to report the facts.

Nti and I talked about our Oscar predictions for awhile but you’ll only catch the tail end of that here (he thought Timmy would win). Also, I’ve been dying to talk to someone who’s seen Felicity about Felicity, and Nti has seen everything, so we also talked a lot about Felicity. Apologies in advance if you don’t care about Felicity.
